How to Install Your M.2 SSD in PS5
Power Down and Remove the Side Panel
Turn off your PS5 completely — never in rest mode. Remove the white side panel (the one without the vent) by sliding it upward. The M.2 slot is clearly visible above the cooling fan.
Insert the M.2 SSD at an Angle
